In a disturbing case from Kuttiyadi, Kozhikode, police have arrested Ajnas, a resident of Kallad and owner of Beckham Barbershop, for allegedly sexually assaulting an 18-year-old after administering MDMA, a chemical drug.

The arrest was carried out by a team led by Kuttiyadi CI Kailas Nath after an extensive search. Ajnas had fled Kerala on May 24 and was initially traced to Ajmer, but managed to evade capture there. Police then issued alerts across railway stations, leading to his arrest in Mangaluru when he disembarked from a train last night.

A case has been registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, based on the victim’s complaint. The victim stated that Ajnas used MDMA to incapacitate and assault him. Following this, a second survivor came forward with a similar accusation, prompting the police to invoke additional sections under the POCSO Act.

Authorities are now investigating the possibility of a larger pattern of abuse, and activists are demanding a thorough probe and support for the survivors.
