Lucknow: Celebrities and fans rejoiced when Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas finally tied the knot in Jodhpur on December 1. However, her parental home in Bareilly was neglected and remained bare on the festive occasion.
Disheartened by the news of the caretaker not being able to decorate the house on his own, members of the Radheyshyam Smriti Samaroh Ayojan Samiti, a social group and the district administration joined hands to take on the task on Saturday. The actor’s neighbours also came forth to help with the decor.
The caretaker, Parmeshwar Rai Pandey told a national news portal that the Chopra family was busy with the wedding, which is perhaps why they forgot about the house. “Bareilly’s people and the district administration came together to decorate the house and show their love for their daughter,” he said.
Parmeshwar has been the caretaker of the house for the last 20 years.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were married in a Western-style wedding ceremony at Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace.
