A Class 9 student was found lying in a blood-soaked condition on a roadside in Lucknow and is currently undergoing treatment in a critical state at the ICU of the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) Trauma Centre. The girl has remained unconscious for the past five days, raising serious concerns about the circumstances that led to her injuries.
The incident falls under the PGI police station limits. The student has been identified as Mansi, a resident of Rajnikhand area in Ashiana. She had gone out with friends on December 25 to celebrate Christmas.
Friends allegedly took her out on false pretext
Mansi’s mother, Neetu Singh, who works at a local shop, alleged that her daughter was taken out under misleading assurances. She said a classmate, Nikhil, initially sought permission to take Mansi out, claiming his sisters would accompany them. When she refused, another friend, Shiza Srivastava, later called and said she would be going along with Aiba Khan and Mansi. Trusting this, Neetu allowed her daughter to go.
According to the mother, the friends told the family they were going to Phoenix Palassio Mall, but later discovered they had instead gone to Lulu Mall, where they reportedly met a boy named Rushil.
‘She said she was returning home’
Neetu Singh said she tried calling her daughter repeatedly when it got late, but the calls went unanswered. When Mansi finally answered, she told her mother they were at Lulu Mall and would return shortly. About 10 minutes later, Shiza informed the family that Mansi had met with an accident.
The family rushed to SGPGI, where doctors informed them that an unknown person had brought Mansi to the hospital in a car. She was admitted to the Trauma Centre ICU, where doctors described her condition as critical, with severe facial swelling. She has not regained consciousness since.
No accident record, police investigation underway
Neetu Singh has alleged foul play, stating that Mansi’s friends neither informed the police nor the family immediately. She also claimed that local enquiries revealed no clear evidence of an accident at the alleged spot. The absence of two friends from the hospital since the incident has further fuelled her suspicion of an attempted murder.
Police officials said they have not received independent confirmation of a road accident so far. The PGI Inspector confirmed that the allegations are under investigation and assured that appropriate action will be taken based on facts and evidence.
