Ex CM Digvijaya Singh booked for Facebook post

Bhopal: Former CM and Rajya Sabha MP from Indian National Congress, Digvijaya Singh has been booked for his social media post on the founding member and former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief M.S Golwalker, the FIR was lodged by an advocate Rajesh Joshi, in Indore on Saturday.

The veteran Congress leader has been booked under Section 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence), 469 (forgery for purpose of harming reputation), 500 (defamation) and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief).

“Digvijaya Singh had shared a controversial post on Facebook, in which he quoted fake quote of ‘Guruji’ (as Golwalkar is popularly known in the sangh) to incite people by creating conflict among Dalits, backward classes, Muslims and Hindus.” alleged Adv Rajesh Joshi.

“The post also hurts the sentiment of Sangh members as well the entire Hindu community” Joshi further added

In the Facebook post, uploaded by the veteran congress leader Digvijaya Singh, Golwalkar was quoted as saying “I would be under British rule and serve them as a servant rather than giving Dalits, Backwards and Muslims equal rights in the country.”
