Mumbai: Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra coalition government, in its decision of revamping the security protocol of over 45 high profile people and politicians of the state, has also downgraded ‘master blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar’s security cover.
As per the reports, the Maha government has upgraded the security of CM Uddhav Thackeray’s son, Yuva Sena president and MLA Aaditya Thackeray’s security.
According to the official sources, Sachin who was under ‘X’ category of security will be downgraded to police escort and Aaditya, who was under ‘Y+’ security will be upgraded to ‘Z’.
Social activist Anna Hazare’s security cover also has been upgraded from ‘Y+’ to ‘Z’.
Meanwhile, an IPS officer said that the decision was taken by the government in a threat perception committee meeting held recently, where the government, out of 97 people has decided to downgrade the security of 16 people and upgrade the security cover of 29 people.
The officer said that the decision was taken according to the intelligence reports, which suggested that some of the high-profile personalities had less threat.
Meanwhile, senior lawyer Ujjwal Nikam’s security has also been reduced from ‘Z+’ to ‘Y’.
