Earthquake of Magnitude 4.5 Hits Arunachal Pradesh, No Damage Reported

On Thursday, Maharashtra’s Hingoli City experienced the impact of two consecutive earthquakes within a brief interval of merely 10 minutes. As per the data provided by the National Center for Seismology, the initial tremor struck at 6:08 am, registering a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale. Subsequently, at approximately 6:19 am, the second quake occurred, recording a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale. Both seismic events took place at a depth of 10 km within the city.

The National Center for Seismology, in an official statement to X, reported, “An earthquake of Magnitude: 3.6 struck on 21-03-2024, at 06:19:05 IST, with coordinates Lat: 19.41 & Long: 77.32, and a depth of 10 km, in Hingoli, Maharashtra, India.”

Reports suggest that tremors from these earthquakes were perceptible for a duration of ten seconds between 6 am and 8 am on Thursday across various regions of Nanded.

Meanwhile, three earthquakes shook East Kameng in Arunachal Pradesh during the early hours of Thursday. The initial seismic activity was noted at 1:49 am, measuring 3.7 magnitude on the Richter scale and occurring at a depth of 10 km.

The subsequent earthquake took place at 3:40 am with a depth of 5 km in the region, recording a magnitude of 3.4 on the Richter scale.

Finally, at 5:13 am, the third tremor was felt, measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale and also occurring at a depth of 5 km, as confirmed by the National Center for Seismology.
