Mumbai: In a tragic incident in Pune, Maharashtra, a 36-year-old businessman named Nikhil Khanna passed away after being punched by his wife at their residence in a high-end residential complex in the Wanavdi area. The shocking incident occurred on Friday, reportedly sparked by a dispute over the husband’s refusal to take his wife to Dubai for her birthday celebration.
Nikhil Khanna, a businessman in the construction industry, and his wife Renuka, aged 38, had a love marriage six years ago. The altercation between the couple escalated when Nikhil did not fulfill Renuka’s wishes for an extravagant celebration, including a trip to Dubai and expensive gifts for her birthday. Renuka was also reportedly displeased with Nikhil’s response to her desire to visit Delhi for the birthdays of some relatives.
During the heated argument, Renuka allegedly punched Nikhil in the face, causing severe injuries, including a broken nose and teeth. The force of the blow led to heavy bleeding, and Nikhil lost consciousness. The incident resulted in Nikhil’s tragic demise.
The Wanavdi Police have registered a case against Renuka under IPC Section 302 (murder) and subsequently arrested her for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
