A massive fire broke out early Saturday morning at Logtech Motors, a two-wheeler showroom located on Pattom-Plamoodu Road. The blaze completely destroyed office equipment, spare parts, and numerous vehicles. Owner Harikumar S K, 57, from Vembayam, estimated the losses at around ₹2 crore.

Logtech Motors is one of the five TVS Motors franchises in the district, with 52 vehicles parked inside and outside the showroom at the time of the fire. Twelve vehicles were fully burnt, and several others suffered varying degrees of damage. The spare parts inventory was entirely consumed by the flames.

Following the incident, officials from the electrical inspectorate and a forensic team inspected the site to ascertain the cause. Police stated that preliminary reports indicate a short circuit as the likely trigger but emphasized that a thorough investigation is needed to confirm this.

Museum police registered a case under Section 306 (1)(c) of the Police Standing Order (FA) in connection with the fire. According to Harikumar, the fire was first spotted by the security guard on duty, who noticed a loud explosion followed by smoke emerging from the building. The fire department was promptly alerted and successfully extinguished the fire, preventing further damage.

While the vehicles and spare parts were insured, the 3,000-square-foot building itself was not covered by insurance. Harikumar confirmed there is no suspicion of foul play related to the fire.
