MALAPPURAM: Police have arrested Kallankunnan Muhammed Farish (29) of Mangattupulam in connection with the case of a minor schoolgirl who became pregnant and was later taken for a termination. The arrest was made by a team led by Malappuram Station Inspector P. Vishnu and Sub-Inspector S.K. Priyan after the accused, who had been absconding, was traced and taken into custody.
According to police, Farish had a pattern of targeting school-going girls, frequently visiting school areas on luxury bikes to gain attention. He allegedly befriended the students, offered assistance, and took them to rented accommodations in Malappuram and Kozhikode, where the offences took place.
Though married and the father of a young child, Farish reportedly misled the girls by claiming to be unmarried. Authorities believe that several other minors may also have been approached, including through social media platforms, and may have faced financial and emotional manipulation.
Police are conducting a comprehensive investigation, and appeal to members of the public to report any relevant information that may help identify other affected individuals.
