A 32-year-old man from Rajasthan, Bhikha Ram (also known as Vikram), was arrested in Haveri, Karnataka, on Wednesday for allegedly threatening to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The accused, originally from Jalore, Rajasthan, had been staying in various locations across Karnataka before settling in Haveri about a month and a half ago, where he worked at construction sites.
The arrest was made following information from the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). Bhikha Ram, who was residing in a rented room in Gowdar Oni, reportedly called the Mumbai Police control room after watching a regional news channel and issued a death threat to Khan. According to police, the man claimed to be a fan of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
After his apprehension, Bhikha Ram was handed over to the Mumbai Police for further investigation and interrogation.
