In a tragic and puzzling incident, a young man named Jafar, a resident of Alukkal, was found dead inside a car parked in the courtyard of his close friend’s house at Mallurkadavu Road, near Thekke Angadi in Kuttippuram, Malappuram district, on Saturday morning.
The vehicle belonged to Ashraf, Jafar’s friend, who lives nearby. According to the Kuttippuram police, the two had gone out for dinner in Ashraf’s car on Friday night. Upon returning late, Ashraf parked the vehicle at his home and went inside, assuming Jafar would walk the short distance back to his own residence.
However, the next morning, Ashraf was shocked to discover Jafar still seated in the front passenger seat, unresponsive. He immediately alerted the authorities.
Police suspect a heart attack as the likely cause of death, though the exact reason will be confirmed following the post-mortem examination. An inquest was conducted at the scene before the body was moved for autopsy.
The sudden death has left the local community in disbelief, with many expressing condolences and awaiting further clarity from the medical findings.
