Man tortures wife with bottle, belt and rope in drunken rage

In a shocking case of domestic violence from A-Sector Damkheda in Bhopal’s Kolar area, a 28-year-old woman was brutally attacked by her husband, who tied her up, beat her savagely, and stabbed her multiple times with a broken beer bottle.

The incident unfolded on Sunday evening after Arvind, the woman’s alcoholic and jobless husband, lured her and their two children back to his home under the guise of reconciliation. The couple had been married for eight years but had separated two months ago due to persistent abuse. The woman had moved to her parents’ home with the children for safety.

Once inside the house, a drunken Arvind reportedly locked his wife in a room, tied her legs with rope, and began beating her with a belt and stick. He then viciously attacked her with a shattered beer bottle, leaving her bloodied and semi-conscious. She was later found naked and seriously injured in the rear section of the house.

The terrified children locked themselves in another room to escape the violence. Police reached the spot following a tip-off. Assistant Sub-Inspector Veermani Pandey confirmed that the woman was rescued in a critical condition and is undergoing treatment. Authorities have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
