Mantralaya: The 353rd Aradhana Mahotsav of Sri Raghavendra Swami was celebrated with great fervour and devotion in Mantralaya on Thursday. The Uttaradhana and Maharathotsava of Raya were held amidst a sea of devotees.

A vibrant procession of Sri Raghavendra Swami’s Utsav Murthy wound its way through the streets of Mantralaya, featuring various art troupes, music bands, and cultural performances. After the Ashtottara chanting by the Pandits, the Utsav Murthy was brought back to Sri Math and offered the original Brindavan Puja. The Maharathotsava followed, a grand spectacle of colourful chariots, music, and dancing.

Devotees dressed in traditional attire participated enthusiastically in the procession, creating a festive atmosphere. Subudhendra Tirtha, the head of the monastery, blessed the devotees from atop the chariot.

The original Brindavan of Raya was adorned with gold ornaments and special navaratnas for the Uttaradhana. Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamarajendra Wodeyar, a scion of the Mysore royal family and a member of parliament, was honoured with the ‘Sriraghavendra Anugrah Award’ by the Sri Math. The award included a certificate, memento, cash, sreephal, and talisman.

Prior to the award ceremony, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamarajendra Wodeyar offered puja to Raya’s original Brindavan. He also jointly inaugurated the newly constructed gold-clad Shilamantapa at the Math with Swamiji.

On the previous night, prominent personalities, including film actor Jaggesh and Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Murthy, visited Mantralaya. The evening was filled with cultural performances by various artists.
