Ayodhya: The three-member team arrived in Ayodhya today, i.e., on March 13 to start the mediation process to resolve the Ram Mandir issue.
Security was tightened around the guest house where the members of the mediation team are staying. The roads leading to the guest house were heavily barricaded. The identities of the residents have been verified and additional police forces have been deployed to deal with unforeseen events.
The venue of the mediation is inside the Avadh University campus in the mini secretariat inside the Gendalal Dixit VIP Guest House. The area has been cordoned off from both the media and outsiders.
The three members of the mediation committee are former Supreme Court judge F M Kalifullah, Senior advocate Sriram Panchu and Art of Living Founder Sri Sri Ravishankar. As per the Supreme Court directions, the mediation committee has to conclude the process in 8 weeks.
The supreme Court has directed that the process must be conducted in utmost confidentiality. The first status report by the mediation committee would be presented to the apex court in four weeks.
The media is not allowed to publish the details of the mediation proceedings.
