Jaipur: The senior members of Mewar kingdom Mahendra Singh questioned the decision of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to issue U/A certificate to Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed movie “Padmavathi” with certain conditions.

He said that the movie has wrongly depicted historically popular, respected personalities in a wrong manner and the permission would harm the peacefulness of society, he warned.

Mahendra Singh has written a letter to Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Smriti Irani and State Minister Rajavardhana Singh Rathod. He alleged that the CBFC President Prasoon Joshi didn’t consider all points while deciding on the certificate for the movie and it is nothing but cheating to the public and carelessness. This may bring a bad name to the CBFC itself, the letter said.

The CBFC had directed the producers to change the movie name as ‘Padmavat’ and make 5 changes. But, the censor board didn’t reveal anything to the people except the opinion of the experts, objections, directions for changes, said Mahendra Singh.
