A mother who went missing from Gujarat nine years ago was finally reunited with her family after police traced her to a street in Lucknow, bringing an emotional end to a long search.
Fifty-five-year-old Ratan Ben had disappeared from Gujarat in 2017. Her family had spent years looking for her, with her son Vishal continuing to hope that he would one day find his mother.
A chance discovery brings hope
Ratan Ben was found alone in Lucknow, where police began efforts to establish her identity. She was reportedly able to provide limited information, but officers continued speaking to her and eventually obtained a crucial clue about her connection to Gujarat.

When mother and son finally came face to face, they embraced and cried. Vishal reportedly said, “God heard my prayers,” expressing the emotion of seeing his mother again after nine years.
The family had spent years searching for Ratan Ben after she disappeared, making the reunion particularly significant.
Police subsequently completed the necessary formalities and helped facilitate her return to Gujarat with her son.
