Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the ninth governing council meeting of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) on Saturday, July 27. As the apex body of NITI Aayog, the council includes all state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of union territories, and several union ministers, with Modi as chairman.
Chief ministers from BJP-led states are expected to attend, though Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, an NDA ally, has not yet confirmed. Several opposition chief ministers have announced their boycott of the meeting.

Meeting Focus:
The meeting will aim to enhance participative governance and strengthen collaboration between the Centre and state governments to improve the quality of life for rural and urban populations. The agenda includes discussing the ‘Approach Paper’ for the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision document and the role of states in achieving this goal. Additional topics will cover recommendations from the third National Conference of Chief Secretaries, focusing on drinking water, electricity, health, education, land and property management, as well as cyber security, aspirational districts, and AI in governance.
