New Delhi: The Congress party has taken the opportunity of April Fool’s Day to troll the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Twitter. The party tried to start a campaign on Twitter to remind people of the promises not delivered by the Modi government.
The Congress on Monday, April 1, tweeted “Black money is still missing, Nirav Modi has still not been brought to justice & the youth are still looking for jobs. The only thing Indians have left to say to our PM – #ModiMatBanao”.
The party has also released a spoof manifesto for the BJP’s 2019 election campaign, in which it refers to BJP as ‘Bharatiya Jumla Party.’ In the spoof manifesto, the party has targeted the BJP over unemployment, demonetisation, minority issues and corruption.
However, ‘Pappu Diwas’ and ‘Pappu Day’ have became the top trend on Twitter to mark April Fools’ Day, with over 30,000 tweets against Congress and Rahul Gandhi, and only 4000 likes for Congress’s ‘fake manifesto’ posts.
The anti-Congress Twitter handles have been trolling the Gandhi scion and circulating images and memes with hashtag, which was one of the top five India trends in the first half of the day.
