New Delhi: Early this morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted an animated video of himself performing a yoga asana – Shalabhasana or the Locust pose – ahead of the International Yoga Day on June 21. The asana shown in today’s video helps one strengthen their back.
The PM has been posting one video dedicated to one asana every day in order to inspire the citizens. He has, so far, tweeted ten yoga asana videos, the first of which was posted on June 5,
Today’ video was tweeted with the caption: “Stronger wrists, back muscles and prevention of spondylitis…just some of the reasons why practising Shalabhasana is beneficial. #YogaDay2019” and has gone viral.

In the video, the animated version of the PM is seen performing the asana while the benefits of the asana are being narrated.
PM Modi is known to be a yoga enthusiast. June 21 was designated as the World Yoga Day based on his speech at the UN General Assembly in 2014. Since then, every year, June 21 is celebrated with mass Yoga events across the country.
