A shocking hygiene revelation surfaced when a Mumbai man shared his experience with FreshMenu on Instagram after receiving the wrong order. He had ordered a paneer burger but was given a chicken burger instead, prompting him to visit the FreshMenu eatery located in Kalina, Santacruz East, to investigate further.
Upon his arrival, he was appalled by the unsanitary conditions of the eatery. In his Instagram post, he urged followers to take notice of the hygiene issues, sharing the exact location and tagging the company. The post quickly gained traction, with many customers and delivery riders chiming in to share similar concerns about cleanliness at eateries.
A delivery person commented, warning others to avoid ordering from restaurants without dine-in facilities, claiming they often neglect hygiene. Similarly, a Zomato rider shared that many restaurants are in a poor state, and he actively alerts customers about unhygienic places.
Several other users added their thoughts, blaming the rising demand for cheap food over quality and hygiene. One user also pointed out that high-quality and hygienic kitchens often face challenges due to cost-conscious customers.
In response, FreshMenu issued an apology, assuring the customer that strict action has been taken against the responsible staff members, and retraining efforts have been made to prevent future lapses. The company also clarified that while they follow food safety measures inside their premises, they have limited control over the external environment.
