In a dramatic turn of events, moviegoers at a late-night show of Pushpa 2 in Nagpur witnessed a real-life action scene when police stormed the cinema hall and arrested Vishal Meshram, a notorious gangster wanted in multiple murder and drug-related cases. The arrest took place shortly after midnight on Thursday, stunning the packed audience. However, the police reassured them that they could continue watching the movie while the accused was taken into custody.

Meshram, who had been on the run for 10 months, was tracked down after authorities learned of his interest in the newly-released film. He had 27 criminal cases against him, including charges of murder and drug trafficking, and was notorious for his violent behavior, even attacking police officers in the past. The police had been relentlessly pursuing him, utilizing cyber surveillance and tracking his movements in a new SUV.

On Thursday, authorities located Meshram at the cinema hall and deflated the tyres of his vehicle outside to prevent him from fleeing. As the movie reached its climax, police entered the hall and surrounded the gangster, making the arrest without giving him a chance to resist.

Meshram is now lodged in Nagpur Central Jail and will soon be transferred to Nashik prison.
