The Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj has drawn millions of devotees from around the world, and among the sea of spiritual seekers, a new figure has captured widespread attention. Atma Prem Giri Maharaj, a 7-foot-tall Russian, has earned the nickname “Muscular Baba” due to his impressive physique. Dressed in saffron attire with a rudraksha mala, tilak on his forehead, and a large ‘jhola’, his muscular build and commanding presence have led many to compare him to Lord Parshuram, the warrior avatar of Lord Vishnu known for his strength and valor. His growing popularity has made him a subject of fascination, with devotees and social media users dubbing him the mythological figure of modern times.

Atma Prem Giri Maharaj, originally from Russia, adopted Sanatan Dharma 30 years ago and has since dedicated his life to spreading Hinduism. Formerly a teacher, he left his mainstream job to immerse himself fully in spiritual pursuits. Currently residing in Nepal, he is actively promoting Hindu philosophy and is a member of the Juna Akhara, a prominent Hindu religious organization. His journey and striking physique have led to viral photos and videos on social media, where users often express their admiration with phrases like “Har Har Mahadev.”

As the Kumbh Mela continues, Atma Prem Giri Maharaj is not the only ‘Baba’ to gain fame. Other figures, such as Abhey Singh, known as “IIT Baba,” and Mahant Rajpuri Ji Maharaj, who is often seen with his pigeon Hari Puri, have also become popular.
