In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Offering prayers to the Goddess during Navratri fills the heart with immense tranquility.” He also shared a soulful bhajan by the legendary Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, calling it “mesmerizing.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also greeted devotees, quoting a Sanskrit shloka and expressing hope that Maa Chandraghanta blesses all with strength and prosperity.
Devotees Flock to Temples
Across India, devotees visited temples in large numbers, beginning their day with early morning prayers. In Delhi, grand aartis were performed at Jhandewalan and Kalkaji temples, drawing huge crowds.
In Ayodhya, devotees thronged Ram Temple and Hanuman Garhi, while thousands visited the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu & Kashmir, where special security measures were in place for pilgrims.

On this day, devotees revere Mata Chandraghanta, the Goddess with ten arms, known for her protective and powerful presence. Her blessings bring peace, courage, and success to her followers.
Navratri, meaning ‘nine nights’, is a grand festival celebrating Goddess Durga’s nine divine forms, observed with deep devotion across the country.
