According to official sources on Monday, the NIA will now lead the investigation into the terrorist attack on the bus in Reasi. The decision to involve the NIA came after a high-level meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital on June 15.

The NIA has commenced a detailed investigation to uncover the conspiracy behind the attack. “The NIA has taken over the case from Jammu and Kashmir Police and registered an FIR in accordance with the orders issued by the Home Ministry due to the gravity of the incident,” the sources revealed.

In the wake of the attack, Jammu and Kashmir Police have offered a reward of Rs 20 lakh for any information leading to the terrorists and have also released a sketch of the suspects.

The attack, which took place when a bus was transporting pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, resulted in the bus plunging into a gorge near Teryath village in the Pouni area. The tragic incident left ten pilgrims dead and 33 others injured.

So far, more than 20 individuals have been detained for questioning in connection with the incident.
