Days after stating he had no plans to publicly announce his marriage, India’s legendary Olympian Neeraj Chopra confirmed his wedding to tennis player Himani Mor. The intimate ceremony took place on January 16 in Himachal Pradesh. Neeraj shared moments from the event through a brief post on social media, expressing his gratitude: “Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after.”

Neeraj’s uncle, Bhim Chopra, told The Indian Express that the marriage was arranged by both families. “The wedding took place on January 16 in Himachal Pradesh, with both families present,” Bhim shared. Neeraj and Himani chose to keep the ceremony private, with Bhim adding, “It’s a new journey for Neeraj and Himani, and their families want it to remain private. They are currently out of the country, and the entire Chopra family is overjoyed.”

Despite being a well-known figure, Neeraj’s fellow athletes learned of the marriage through his social media, in line with his earlier statement on keeping his personal life private. In a recent interview, Neeraj emphasized that marriage is a personal decision, and it’s not necessary to make a public announcement.

Himani, a former tennis player, hails from Sonipat, Haryana, and was ranked 42 in singles and 27 in doubles nationally. She now manages the women’s tennis programme at Amherst College in the USA.
