Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra achieved a landmark feat at the 2025 Doha Diamond League, becoming the first Indian javelin thrower to cross the 90-metre threshold in an international event. His impressive throw of 90.23 metres marked a new personal best and national record, surpassing his previous best of 89.94 metres set at the 2022 Stockholm Diamond League. Despite this incredible milestone, Chopra finished second behind Germany’s Julian Weber, who claimed victory with a throw of 91.06 metres.
