Kochi: In a chilling revelation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) informed the special court in Kochi that it has unearthed multiple “hit lists” prepared by the banned Popular Front of India (PFI), containing names of more than 950 individuals from Kerala and beyond.

The submission came during a hearing on 25 June, as the NIA opposed bail pleas of four accused — Muhammad Bilal, Riyasudheen, Ansar K P, and Saheer K V, all natives of Palakkad — in a case tied to anti-national conspiracies.

The agency said it seized eight documents from the 51st accused, Sirajudheen, which included a list of 240 targets from other communities. In another raid at Periyar Valley Campus, Aluva — suspected to have served as a PFI arms training centre — a hit list of five people, including a former district judge, was recovered from the wallet of absconding accused Abdul Wahad.

Further, an approver in the case handed over a document listing 232 individuals, while a raid on the 69th accused, Ayoob TA, led to the discovery of another list with nearly 500 names.

The NIA also reiterated its earlier claim that the murder of RSS leader S K Sreenivasan in Palakkad in April 2022 was part of a broader plan by PFI to establish Islamic rule in India by 2047, a goal detailed in a six-page document recovered from Bihar.

After reviewing the evidence and submissions, the court found sufficient grounds to deny bail to the four accused.

The PFI was banned in September 2022 by the Ministry of Home Affairs for its alleged involvement in terrorism, radicalisation, targeted killings, and attempts to disrupt India’s constitutional framework.
