Hyderabad: The cops have successfully nabbed two persons in connection to the sensational Hyderabad Nizam Museum heist involving theft of antique commodities worth Rs 100 Cr.

The arrested are Mohammed Ghouse Pasha and Mohammed Mubeen, residents of Rajendra Nagar. Both are said to be relatives and childhood friends.
The duo had gained entry into Purani Haveli Nizam Museum on September 3 and fled with diamond studded tiffin box, gold cup-saucer set studded with rubies and diamonds and golden spoons, all weighing up to four kgs. Soon after the heist, the police formed 20 teams and with the help of the surveillance camera footage, the police nabbed the two.

Though the duo had plans to lay their hands on a gold wrapped Holy Quran, they fled spot as the azaan began in a nearby Masjid. It is said that the entire heist plan was plotted after the two went to the museum as tourists during August, after returning from Saudi Arabia.

A Hollywood style heist was pulled off well by the duo in a museum, which evidently had weak security in place, but the two could not execute the plans of selling off the stolen booty in Mumbai efficiently. Their failed bid to sell off the booty landed them behind bars.

Commissioner of police, Hyderabad Anjani Kumar is quoted saying that it was a big challenge to crack the case.

As far as the two accused are concerned, Ghouse, a class 7 drop out is also called ‘Khooni Ghouse’ because of his habit of relishing raw meat! Mubeen, a class 2 drop out was arrested in 2015 earlier for beating up a Pakistani national.

The police sources said that the two were so obsessed with the golden cutlery that they had started eating food using the same golden utensils.
