Mumbai: As many as10 rebel MLAs from the Congress-Janata Dal (S) state coalition government who have settled in Hotel Sofitel BKC, located at Bandra Kurla Complex have finally clarified their stand, here on Sunday, July 7.
Addressing a press meet, as a representative of the rebel leaders MLA S T Somashekhar said, “Ten MLAs right now are standing by their decision and are not going to withdraw the resignation submitted to Karnataka State Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar. Tomorrow, MLAs Anand Singh, Ramalinga Reddy and others will also join us.”
“All the rebel MLAs have met Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Vala and have discussed on this. There is no question of withdrawing resignation”, he added.
On questions whether they’ll return and withdraw their resignation if a new chief minister takes charge, he said, “We had not kept forth the demand to change the CM. Hence the question of changing our mind doesn’t arise.”
“We all have decided that we’ll not attend the CLP meeting called by coalition leaders as well” he added.
Back in Bengaluru, the JDS party workers are protesting against the conduct of the Congress leaders towards the coalition at the Hotel Taj Westend, demanding for justice.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is on a crucial meeting with Congress-JDS party leaders and remaining MLAs in the same hotel.
