A controversy unfolded as a video featuring social media influencer and Curly Tales founder Kamiya Jani conversing with bureaucrat-turned-BJD leader VK Pandian at the Jagannath temple premises went viral.
The Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) objected, citing Jani’s alleged promotion of beef consumption and her access to the revered shrine in Puri. The viral video shows Jani endorsing the Puri Srimandir Heritage Corridor project and Mahaprasad alongside BJD leader VK Pandian. The Odisha BJP accused Pandian of disregarding the sanctity of the temple by allowing a purported beef promoter into the premises.
The BJP demanded strict action and the registration of a case under IPC Section 295 A against both Jani and Pandian, seeking their swift arrest. The BJP also shared a screenshot of Jani’s previous post where she is seen promoting ‘beef dishes.’ In response, Kamiya clarified on her official Instagram account that she has never consumed beef, emphasizing her commitment to promoting Indian culture and heritage.
