New Delhi: One person was killed and four others were injured after an oxygen cylinder exploded near a community hall in Delhi’s Okhla area on Wednesday, officials said.
The incident was reported at around 11 am, following which emergency teams were rushed to the spot.
Three fire tenders and a multi-casualty response vehicle were deployed after the blast was reported. One person died at the scene, while four injured people were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Cause of blast under investigation
Officials said the exact cause of the oxygen cylinder explosion was not immediately known and an investigation was under way.
The identity of the deceased had not been disclosed at the time of the report.
Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the blast as part of the investigation.
