A one-year-old child narrowly escaped serious injury after falling from a moving bus in Srivilliputhur, Tamil Nadu, on Thursday. The incident occurred when the driver of a private bus suddenly applied the brakes, causing a heavy jolt that threw passengers off balance.

The infant, who was in his mother’s arms, slipped and fell through the entrance as the bus came to a sudden stop near Meenakshipuram village. Locals said the baby sustained minor injuries and was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital. A bystander standing by the road immediately picked up the child and helped bring him to safety.

The baby was traveling with his mother, uncle Madhan Kumar, and elder sibling. Madhan Kumar and the two-year-old, who were seated close to the bus entrance, also fell during the jolt. While the child remained unharmed, Kumar suffered facial injuries, as captured in CCTV footage from the bus. The group was on a journey from Madurai to Srivilliputhur when the mishap occurred.
