India’s Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, saw 24 precision missile strikes across nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). This swift and assertive operation led to the death of 70 terrorists and injured over 60. The targets were specifically terrorist camps linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, with key field commanders among the dead.
The strikes, which took place on May 7, 2025, were not just military retaliation but a clear message of India’s strategic resolve. By targeting key terrorist hubs, including Muzaffarabad, Bahawalpur, and Neelum Valley, India demonstrated its zero-tolerance stance on cross-border terrorism and the complicity of state institutions supporting it.
The operation strategically aimed to cripple the operational capabilities of these terror outfits. Indian intelligence had long monitored these locations, using satellite surveillance and intercepted communications to identify high-value targets. The use of precision missiles ensured minimal civilian harm, though Pakistan reported civilian casualties, which India maintains were unavoidable due to the embedded nature of terror camps within civilian areas.
Notably, this operation also targeted logistics officers, trainers, and communication hubs vital to terrorist operations, disrupting their ability to plan and coordinate infiltrations into India. The rapid execution, with all missiles striking within an hour, marked a significant shift in India’s military doctrine, signaling a more assertive and strategic approach to counter-terrorism.
