Vadodara: A bizarre protest unfolded near Sur Sagar Lake on Friday when a woman staged a sit-in on the road after being served only four pani puris instead of six for ₹20, causing a traffic jam in the area.

Road protest disrupts traffic

According to eyewitnesses, the woman refused to leave the road until her demands were met. She tearfully insisted that either she receive the missing two pani puris or that the vendor’s cart be removed.

The protest led to congestion in the busy stretch near the lake, drawing the attention of commuters and local authorities. Traffic came to a standstill for several hours as passersby and motorists waited for the situation to be resolved.

Police intervention

Police personnel soon arrived at the scene to manage the unusual protest. After several hours of negotiation, authorities managed to convince the woman to leave the road, allowing traffic to return to normal. No injuries were reported, and the vendor’s cart remained in place.

The incident, while unusual, has become a talking point on social media, with many netizens expressing amusement and surprise at the lengths to which the protester went over a minor food dispute.
