A shocking incident unfolded in Ghaziabad’s Amrapali Village Society, Indirapuram, on Tuesday evening, when a domestic worker waiting for a lift was bitten by a pet dog in the presence of its owner. The woman, identified as Kalpana, who works in CM Tower of the society, was left screaming and limping in pain.
The episode, captured on CCTV footage, shows a man and his mother entering the lift with their dog at 7:13 pm. The woman inside the lift is seen gesturing as if to slap the animal. Moments later, the lift doors open, and the dog bolts out, pouncing on Kalpana, who was waiting outside.
Instead of helping the injured woman, the man followed his dog, which ran towards the staircase before returning inside the lift. He later slapped the dog on its head, while his mother blocked the pet to prevent it from rushing out again.
Meanwhile, Kalpana is seen in the lobby, crying and clutching her thigh, visibly struggling to walk. A neighbour, alerted by her cries and the dog’s barking, came out to check. Kalpana picked up her belongings and boarded another lift, still in distress.
The accused man, who also resides in CM Tower, has not been seen assisting the victim in the footage.
