Adhur: In a disturbing case of student aggression, five Plus Two students from Adhur Government Higher Secondary School were detained on Sunday for brutally attacking a junior over a trivial matter—wearing shoes to school.
According to the FIR, the incident took place around 1:30 pm on Friday. Muhammad Ryan (16), a Plus One student, was allegedly abused, pushed to the ground, and injured when a bench was overturned onto him by the seniors. Ryan suffered hand injuries and was immediately taken for medical treatment.
Shockingly, the motive behind the assault was Ryan’s decision to wear shoes to school, which reportedly angered the senior students.
The accused have been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS):
-
Section 191(2): Rioting
Section 126(2): Wrongful restraint
Section 296(b): Obscene acts and songs
Section 351(1): Criminal intimidation
Section 115(2): Voluntarily causing hurt
Section 118(2): Hurt by dangerous weapons
Adhur SHO Sanjaya Kumar confirmed that the students are being taken to court. Meanwhile, the school principal has suspended all the accused pending disciplinary proceedings.
The incident has sparked outrage among parents, educators, and child safety advocates, prompting calls for robust anti-ragging policies and stricter enforcement of student discipline codes in schools.
