New Delhi:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the successful completion of the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’, a nationwide health initiative aimed at empowering women and families. Launched on his 75th birthday, September 17, 2025, the campaign concluded on October 2, 2025, marking a significant milestone in India’s public health efforts.
In a statement, PM Modi commended the grassroots efforts that made the campaign impactful and beneficial to India’s ‘Nari Shakti’ (women power). He described the initiative as a “great example of Jan Bhagidari” (people’s participation), emphasizing the importance of collective action in improving lives and building a healthier society.
The campaign achieved historic milestones, including the screening of over 6.5 crore women through nearly 18 lakh health camps organized across the country. These camps provided preventive, promotive, and curative health services, focusing on conditions such as anemia, tuberculosis, sickle cell disease, and maternal health. Additionally, the initiative offered nutrition counseling, menstrual hygiene promotion, and awareness sessions on lifestyle and mental health.
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda highlighted the scale and impact of the initiative, noting that it reflects the nation’s collective resolve to place women’s health at the heart of strong families and thriving communities.
The success of the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ underscores the effectiveness of collaborative efforts between government agencies, healthcare institutions, and local communities in achieving public health objectives.
