On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced Maharashtra’s Nashik with his presence, embarking on a day filled with significant events. Commencing with spiritual reverence, PM Modi offered prayers at Ramkund and participated in pooja at Shree Kalaram Mandir. The auspicious occasion also witnessed the inauguration of the 27th National Youth Festival in Nashik, adding a cultural dimension to the day.
Noteworthy on the agenda was the launch of state development projects, an impressive initiative valued at over Rs 30,000 crore. Among the monumental projects, PM Modi unveiled the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), christened Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewee-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, constructed with a substantial investment exceeding Rs 17,840 crore. A public meeting in Navi Mumbai followed the inauguration, allowing the Prime Minister to address the gathered audience.
The spirited roadshow, spanning almost 35 minutes, featured PM Modi accompanied by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, along with other prominent BJP leaders. The event showcased a vibrant display of artistry, performances by popular groups, and the captivating presence of tribal performers. The roadshow commenced at Hotel Mirchi Chowk, covering a distance of over 2 km before culminating at Sant Janardan Swami Maharaj Chowk.
Deepening his connection with the spiritual essence of the region, PM Modi performed ‘jal pujan’ and ‘aarti’ at Ramkund, situated on the picturesque bank of the Godavari River. Embracing the local traditions, he was honored with a traditional turban during the ceremony.
Further paying homage to cultural heritage, PM Modi offered prayers at the renowned Kalaram in Panchvati, dedicated to Lord Ram. The temple holds historical significance, being the focal point of a protest led by B R Ambedkar on March 2, 1930, advocating for the entry of Dalits into the sacred shrine.
