Portal to report sexual abuse launched by centre

New Delhi: The centre has launched an online web portal which allows you to report sexual abuse online, even cases of child sexual abuse, in a convenient manner and anonymously if required. The portal can be accessed at https://cybercrime.gov.in.

The description of the website reads as an initiative of government under National Mission for the safety of women using Nirbhaya funds, catering to complaints pertaining to Child Pornography (CP)-Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or sexually explicit content such as Rape/Gang Rape (CP/RGR) content.

While there is an option to post anonymously, there is also a ‘report and track’ option, where you would have to fill in your name, phone number, email address, details of the complaint and so on. The advantage of this is that you would be able to track the progress of completion of the complaint. Once any complaint is made, the concerned state police authorities will begin to take appropriate actions.

Any complaints which provide false information can be penalised as per the law.

Other than this, the portal also has safety tips to be accessed.
