As part of the Lenten season, the Potta Divine Retreat Centre organised a special online prayer meeting and teaching session focusing on the spiritual significance of the Wounds of Christ.
The programme was held as part of the centre’s Divine weekly Zoom prayer gathering, bringing together faithful from different regions for prayer, worship and reflection during Lent.
Lenten reflection on Christ’s suffering
The teaching was delivered by Maria Sangeetha, who spoke about the importance of contemplating the wounds of Jesus Christ as a path to deeper spiritual renewal.
She encouraged participants to reflect on Christ’s suffering and sacrifice, emphasising that such meditation helps believers strengthen their faith and grow closer to God during the penitential season of Lent.
The session aimed to guide participants in understanding how devotion to the Wounds of Christ can inspire prayer, repentance and spiritual transformation.
Prayer and worship gathering
The prayer meeting also included praise and worship led by Jonathan and Simone Rebello, creating a reflective atmosphere for participants joining the online gathering.
Participants were invited to begin the evening with the Rosary at 6:30 p.m., followed by the main teaching and prayer meeting at 7:00 p.m. conducted through the Zoom platform.
Strengthening faith through online prayer
The Potta Divine Retreat Centre has been conducting regular online prayer meetings to encourage spiritual growth and fellowship among believers.
Organisers said such initiatives allow families and prayer groups to participate together in worship and reflection, especially during important liturgical seasons like Lent.
Faithful were encouraged to invite friends and family members to join the prayer gathering so that more people could experience spiritual renewal and strengthen their faith during the Lenten journey.
