Patna: The Huffpost C Voter Bihar Pre Poll survey conducted through 10,636 interviews covering all 243 segments in Bihar in August last week and September 1st week, and published online on the 9th of September, indicates that Bihar is two horse race between the BJP Alliance and the JDU Alliance.
The survey indicates that the JDU alliance will get a 43% vote share, while the BJP will get 40% of the votes. That would mean 124 to 102 seats to the JDU alliance.
The Bihar assembly polls will be held in five phases between 12 October to 5 November, the Election Commission announced today. The results will be known on 8 November.
The stakes are high. For the PM, after the loss in the Delhi assembly elections another defeat could weaken his reform agenda, while for Nitish Kumar, it would be a loss of face, after he has given into the need of the hour – an alliance with old foe Lalu Yadav. Each of their parties is contesting 100 seats each, while the Congress is contesting 40 in the alliance. the BJP alliance has yet to decide its seat sharing methodology, but the process will be rather smooth.
