In a shocking act of violence, a woman Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable, Sunitha, and her husband, Gudavalli Anand, were mercilessly attacked by a drunken mob in Malapalli, Undavalli, near Tadepalli on Sunday night.

The couple, both railway employees, were heading home on a motorcycle when a drunken individual deliberately rammed into them from behind. When Anand confronted the attacker, the situation turned violent. The miscreant allegedly misbehaved with Sunitha, prompting her to retaliate. Enraged, he summoned around ten associates, who arrived shortly after and launched a brutal assault on the couple using stones.

Despite Sunitha’s desperate pleas and informing the attackers that she was five months pregnant, the mob showed no restraint. Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants even threatened locals who tried to intervene.

Both Sunitha and Anand suffered serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The incident has sparked outrage, with calls for strict action against the attackers and better protection for public servants.

Authorities are investigating the case, and police have assured that those responsible will be brought to justice.
