WAYANAD: A video capturing an unexpected moment involving Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is making the rounds on social media. During a public function in Mananthavady’s Payyampally, just moments before she was to unveil a nameplate for a new municipal building, it fell off and shattered on stage, visibly shocking Priyanka. Her candid reaction, caught on camera, has since gone viral.
But beyond the viral clip, her visit to Kerala took on a more serious tone as she addressed the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. Strongly condemning the ongoing violence, Priyanka said:
“It is very wrong on a humanitarian level. I’ve said this before and I’m saying it again, what is happening in Gaza is unacceptable.”
She expressed deep concern over the deaths of over 60,000 people, especially women and children, and criticised the Indian government for abstaining from a recent UN General Assembly vote calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
“It is shameful and disappointing that our government chose not to vote for peace and civilian protection. Real leadership means standing up for truth, justice and non-violence,” she said.
India was among 19 nations that abstained, while 149 voted in favour of the resolution. Priyanka called this a “tragic reversal” of India’s legacy of moral leadership in global forums.
