Pune: A horrifying murder has surfaced in the jurisdiction of Vishrambaug Police Station, where a 21-year-old youth allegedly killed a middle-aged man following a dispute over rejected sexual advances.

The victim, believed to be between 50 and 55 years old, was found in a pool of blood in the parking area of a building located opposite the Mandai Metro Station on Wednesday. The injured man was quickly rushed to Sassoon Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The accused, identified as Ramesh Prakash Satre, is a resident of Katard village in Rahuri taluka, Ahilyanagar district. Police sources revealed that after committing the crime, Ramesh fled and hid at his brother’s residence in Shirur.

Acting on a tip-off, Crime Branch Unit 01 swiftly located and nabbed the accused in Shirur.

According to Senior Police Inspector Shabbir Sayed, preliminary investigation indicates that the murder stemmed from a personal altercation. The accused had reportedly demanded sexual favours, which the victim refused, leading to a violent confrontation. In a fit of rage, Ramesh attacked the man with a sharp weapon, fatally slashing his neck, which caused massive blood loss and led to his death.

The identity of the victim remains unknown. The accused had reportedly moved to Pune 3–4 months ago seeking employment. A case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Vishrambaug Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
