In a disturbing incident of road rage in Pune, Maharashtra, a woman riding a scooter with her two children was brutally assaulted by a man, leaving her injured and bleeding on the road.

According to the victim, identified as Jerlyn D Silva, the accused, an elderly man who has since been arrested along with his wife, attempted to overtake her vehicle aggressively on the Pashan-Baner Link Road. Silva recounted that the man relentlessly pursued her for nearly 2 kilometers, despite her attempts to avoid a confrontation.

In a video that has now gone viral, Silva stated, “This man kept speeding behind me and suddenly veered to the left, got out of his car, and punched me hard enough to cause bleeding immediately.”

Expressing her outrage, Silva demanded justice and criticized the deteriorating law and order situation in Pune. “I don’t know where we are going,” she lamented.

Authorities from the Chaturshringi Police Station confirmed that Silva was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the motorist was detained pending formal complaint procedures, as reported by news agency IANS.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, echoing concerns about public safety in the city, particularly in light of recent incidents such as a fatal hit-and-run involving a minor driving a Porsche just two months ago.
