A giant python caused a stir as it entered a clothes showroom in Meerut’s Lalkurti market, surprising both customers and shopkeepers. The unexpected visitor, measuring approximately 8.5 feet and weighing 18 kg, crawled across the displayed clothes, triggering panic among those present.
The commotion began when a customer spotted the python and queried the shopkeeper about the snake’s presence. Initially mistaking it for a rat, the shopkeeper was startled to discover the python among the garments, prompting a swift evacuation of frightened customers and shopkeepers.
A large throng watched the wild scene unfold as witnesses recorded the strange event on camera. The matter was quickly reported to the Meerut Forest Department, which sent a team to deal with it. The forest department managed to successfully rescue and catch the python after arduous efforts.
Luckily, no one was injured during the operation’s conclusion. The Forest Department crew returned the python to its native forest, demonstrating their proficiency in rescuing wildlife. The python most likely entered the store while pursuing rats from a nearby drain, according to the authorities.
