Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has stepped out of Parliament and onto the streets, sharing a teaser video that shows him experiencing a day in the life of a Blinkit delivery rider. The short clip, posted on his X account, has quickly drawn attention and sparked conversations around the realities of gig work in India.

The video shows Chadha donning a Blinkit T-shirt and jacket, accepting a delivery bag from a rider and riding pillion on a scooter. The duo is seen stopping at a store to collect items before heading out for delivery. At the destination, the rider rings the doorbell, with Chadha following closely behind. The clip ends abruptly with a message on screen: “Stay tuned”.

Highlighting life beyond boardrooms

Sharing the video, Chadha wrote, “Away from boardrooms, at the grassroots. I lived their day. Stay tuned.” The teaser appears to be part of a wider attempt to spotlight the everyday challenges faced by gig and platform workers, whose roles have expanded rapidly with the growth of quick-commerce services.

In recent months, Chadha has repeatedly raised concerns in Parliament about low pay, long working hours and the lack of social security for delivery executives and other platform workers.

Context of earlier engagement

The video follows a widely discussed episode from December 2025, when a Blinkit delivery executive’s viral video on earnings triggered public outrage over gig worker conditions. Chadha later met the delivery partner, identified as Thapliyal Ji from Uttarakhand, and invited him to his residence for lunch after the Winter Session of Parliament, a gesture that drew national attention.

Renewed focus on gig worker rights

With gig work becoming a significant source of employment for young Indians, the teaser has renewed focus on labour rights, fair wages and worker protection in the platform economy. While the full video is yet to be released, the brief glimpse has already prompted discussions on whether lived experiences can translate into meaningful policy change.
