New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has accused the BJP of undermining India’s core values while favoring select business allies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a video posted by Congress on X (formerly Twitter), Gandhi criticized the increasing concentration of wealth among a few while unemployment and inflation continued to burden the masses.
“Battle Between Two Ideas of India”
“The BJP’s ideology is attacking the very essence of India. The country’s wealth is being taken from millions and handed over to a select few close to the ruling party. Prices are soaring, and jobs are vanishing. That is the real battle,” he stated.
He emphasized that the struggle was not just between political parties but between two contrasting visions for the nation’s future.
BJP Hits Back
Meanwhile, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned Rahul Gandhi’s frequent foreign visits, particularly his latest trip to Vietnam. Prasad demanded an explanation for what he called Gandhi’s “extraordinary fondness” for the country.
The BJP also criticized the Karnataka government’s recent decision to allocate 4% reservation in government contracts to Muslims, calling it appeasement politics.
With elections nearing, the political face-off over governance, economic disparity, and national ideology continues to intensify.
