Rajasthan: According to the police in Kota, Rajasthan, fourteen children encountered an electric shock incident during a Mahashivratri procession today. State Health Minister Heeralal Nagar stated that two of them are in critical condition.

The affected children have been promptly admitted to a hospital, as confirmed by the police.

Images captured by news agency ANI depict some children being hurriedly taken into emergency rooms for medical attention.

Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Mr. Nagar commented, “It’s a very tragic occurrence… Two children are severely injured, with one sustaining 100 percent burns. A specialized team has been mobilized to administer comprehensive treatment. Authorities have been instructed to investigate any potential negligence.”

Initial reports from news agency PTI suggest that a high-tension overhead power line is likely the cause of the electric shock.

The two critically injured children sustained burns of 50 percent and 100 percent, respectively, while the others suffered burns of less than 50 percent .
