PM Urges Cybersecurity Emphasis in High-Level Police Meeting

Jaipur: On the second day of the 58th national conference of director generals and inspector generals of police in Jaipur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi actively engaged with police chiefs from each state. The annual three-day conference, held at the Rajasthan International Centre from January 5-7, involved extensive discussions on key topics, including cybersecurity, internal security, legal reforms, and human trafficking.

Sources revealed that the Prime Minister arrived at the venue shortly after 8:30 am, concluding his participation after 8 pm following detailed discussions on various subjects. Addressing the DGPs, PM Modi motivated them to continue their dedicated work for the security of the country. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were also present at the conference.

The day’s agenda prominently featured a three-hour session on cybersecurity, with the participation of notable cyber experts and teams from across the country. PM Modi received a comprehensive briefing on ongoing efforts in the field of cybersecurity.

At 1 pm, the Prime Minister and Amit Shah joined all the DGPs and IGPs for lunch, providing an opportunity for personal interaction with each officer. The lunch, catered by the Taj Group, showcased the flavors of Rajasthani cuisine.

During the conference, active discussions were held on key topics, including internal security, legal reforms, and human trafficking. Suggestions were sought from DGPs of all states to address internal security issues, and a comprehensive session featuring insights from Ajit Doval took place. Additionally, discussions focused on the need for changes in laws, increased punishments, and fines, with inputs from Shah and police chiefs representing various states.

A dedicated two-hour session was devoted to deliberations on human trafficking, featuring an informative presentation by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, followed by an in-depth discussion on root causes and preventive measures.

Throughout the day, a total of 11 sessions were held on various subjects, with DGPs and chiefs of different police agencies sharing critical information. Meanwhile, authorities took swift action to maintain order, placing NSUI state president Abhishek Chaudhary under house arrest for threatening to show black flags to PM Modi, with other members of the student organization also detained. A senior police officer emphasized the strict vigilance to ensure the smooth proceedings of the conference.
